Got an offer at Accenture AI/ML computation science sr analyst but CTC is less than my current CTC

Hello everyone, I recently interviewed for a Responsible AI Developer position at Accenture and successfully cleared two interview rounds. I am currently working as an AI Developer at a startup in Bangalore, with a CTC of 7.2 LPA(it was 6 LPA until last month when I received a hike).

I received a call from Accenture confirming that I passed the interviews. However, the package they are offering is around not even 6 LPA in-hand, which is lower than my current salary. This situation has put me in a dilemma as I have 4 years of total experience —2 years as a Coding Instructor and 2.5 years as an AI Developer.

In my current role, I am involved in both product and project work, and I often work long hours, typically from 10 AM to 11 PM It's a work-from-home setup, but my CEO frequently contacts me on weekends for updates, suggestions, and upcoming tasks. Despite the demanding schedule, I am considering Accenture's offer because it is a well-established MNC which would be beneficial for my career.

However, I have family responsibilities and need to manage a loan, so a lower salary would be challenging for me. I've reached out to the HR team at Accenture for further discussion, but I have not received any responses yet.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights on how to approach this situation or negotiate better terms. Thank you .

Here are few pointers which may help you to take decision:

  1. What’s the kind of work you would be doing at Accenture? You can connect with folks on similar position at Accenture and ask about projects. Maybe grapevine can help here connecting with those folks. Else LinkedIn.
  2. While Accenture is pretty big, learning would depend totally on project and manager. You never know how the new manager would be. Maybe they also get you to work on weekends.
  3. In startups, your work visibility and ownership is way higher than MNCs and you can easily rise ranks way faster.
  4. You mentioned that you have loans. Generally startups deduct only 1800 for PF contribution for self and another 1800 company. In all 3600. But bigger companies will deduct 12% of basic as PF, which reduces your take home.
  5. I feel that while younger, focus should be more on learning a lot even if it takes some sacrifice. When you become older and have wok family/kids, it’s difficult to work for longer hours both physically and mentally.

The above scenario certainly changes if you are laid off.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I have read each and every point and I'll make decisions mindfully . I got an email , seems there's some misunderstanding and hr will get back to be with an updated salary she told me it's 10 lpa , she'll share me the details soon . Should I ask for a higher package or should I settle with this?
