HELP! Resign without an Offer?
I'm considering resigning without an offer as my notice period is 2 months. I'm sick of this role where there's no challenging work, BAU + adhoc alone exists here. It's been 8 months now since I've joined.
The recruiters are low balling me stating my notice is 2 months. I have a decent amount of money that can help me for over 6 months. I'm stressed out because of this job and how is impacting my career (resume, projects etc). I've lost significant weight, my mental state has also started to affect my relationship.
I'm confident when it comes to interviews, and have 3 of them lined up. I'm yet to hear from 1 for the next set of rounds which also went well.
Really need some advice. I'm in analytics, I see quite some openings now. And I suppose by March there would be plenty.
Don't.
Even if it's a lowballed offer, just get an offer letter first before quitting.
I'm into analytics too.
By this time last year, I closed around 5 offers. Now my resume is not even getting shortlisted. I'm glad to hear you are getting interviews but don't take it as a sign and quit.
Try telling the HR that your notice period can be negotiated and get the offer letter. Then you can decide.
Also what's your years of experience and how long has it been at the new org?
I too have had a phase where I got bored and just wanted to quit. Then one of my team members left and I got all the limelight working on different projects, and growing to be a goto person for anything analytics. So it won't be bad all the time. All you need is a small change. Talk with your manager.
Thanks for the advise. I'm at 4 YOE, slightly over 8 months in this company. Its a decentralised system and no clarity of what I'll be doing the next day (have tried getting this clarity - never possible here).
I did it, trust me, it’s not that bad. But, you need to be able to stick with it, no matter how long it takes. Could be 1 month, 6 months, or 1 year. Don't let it wear you out and give in to whatever comes along eventually. That's also why It's important to have sufficient financial runway for a decision like this. Make sure you have a someone you can depend on just incase, both financially and emotionally, (family, spouse, friends). Try and cut out unnecessary expenses - having understanding people around you who support your decision make this process easier, and that is an important thing to remember. Goodluck!
Yes, just worried about the phase of not having a good offer, in case.
TLDR , Never quit without an offer.
In a good market it could have been worth the risk but not in current market.
If you quit now and you can't find a good job quickly, your savings will vanish in some time, you will become desperate and will have to say yes to any job that comes along next , which could be worse than current one.
Seems like you are a high achiever and need some challenge. Take up side projects or freelance jobs. It will augment your income, provide necessary stimulus to your mind and keep you busy.
Meanwhile keep applying outside and leave once you have an offer you will actually like.
Thanks for the opinion. Your POV makes sense.
It's understandable to feel burnt out in your current role. If you have savings and opportunities lined up, taking a break could help you recharge and focus on finding a role that aligns with your goals. Prioritize your mental health and well-being while remaining proactive in your job search.
start applying mentioning 1 month notice period.... with this, u will have few interviews.... once u clear one and are confident to crack further, then u resign....
