Here we go again. Government asks firms to take permission to launch AI models

The government has asked artificial intelligence platforms to seek its permission before launching an AI product in the country.

Usual government bureaucracy moronic stuff.

They think this is going to save jobs from being automated away by AI entirely. That's partially true for some time but this is definitely going to hamper our working class's skill growth for a post-AGI economy in the longer run. Which jobs are going to remain after AI takes over? My guess is that the remaining jobs will have something to do with AI so stifling AI research is harmful.

They think as if LLM research in India has reached late-stage development like the US where greedy mistakes can lead to runaway hypergrowth to world-ending superintelligence. But we're very early stage to the point where we can barely make any progress in a year whereas US or China will probably own the world by the end of this year.

I see that I was the moron and the OP is a moron too for falsely quoting the actual regulation.

Lesson learnt - read the actual stuff before ranting.

The actual regulation is pretty sane - you cannot claim AI products are in testing after an incident. If you're launching an AI product that is still in testing, you must take permissions.

Also, all AI-generated visual content must have an e-tag to identify creators of deepfakes - which is a pretty rudimentary way to stop it ngl but not harmful.

Read the actual regulation - the regulation is different from what OP claims. I've explained it in my 2nd comment too.
