10% minimum, ideally more. Negotiate well.

🧐 why would a funded company give any employee 10%

Funding doesn't mean shit. Founding engineers are the ones who will bring real value to a hypothetically lucrative company.

I'm a founder too and anything less than 5% for founding team engineer sounds criminal to me.

How much did you get in the end? From where did they start offering?

They offered options of ranging from .4 to .6 . Fixed pay varies inversely. I am still thinking about it though

Are you taking a pay cut to join here? If you are paid near market, then up to founder discretion. Cause frankly, unless you bring some niche, non replaceable skills to the table.

Normally anything in the 0.1 - 0.25% would be par.

My 2 cents.

0.5% to 1% if you have an experience of leading a team of engineers and handling engineering at a scale of 100k dollars in revenue

Right amount of ESOPs

As a software engineer with 1.5yrs of experience, how much ESOPs shall I ask from a Seed funded startup. I am here since initial days of company.

Is it a certain percentage of valuation? What's the market standard?
