Usually involves some combination of butter and your manager

Tell them a good reason where you stand compared to peers in the same company or in other companies. Tell them you have more needs to the money without which you will not be happy.

If you are a valued resource they will consider a raise for you. They have to.

Make sure they go out of the meeting feeling ‘This guy/girl will start looking outside if we don’t do something soon’

Talking logic with your company/manager never works. Your happiness and satisfaction means nothing to them. People are just a resource nothing valuable there. They will not offer you promotion or hike because you are talented. They offer it because they think your exit at this juncture might affect the delivery schedule.

Never seen it work unless u bring higher offer from outside. But ya only if retention is a goal ur manager would pursue and HR/Finance would likely ok it

Resign,.. they will offer a hike. This happens 2/3 times. The unlikely scenario where they don't make an offer means they want you to go. You probably would have been fired in 6 months had you stayed.
