Human Intelligence: Beyond the Reach of AI
Today, many people believe that AI will take over tech jobs and that software engineering will vanish within six years. However, from what I understand, human intelligence encompasses more than just writing code and debug it.
Human intelligence involves emotions, creativity, imagination, dreams, and passion. It's hard to believe that A person can create ai modal which can replicate all these aspects while sitting in an air-conditioned room. It may take AI a hundred years to achieve even two percent of the capabilities of human intelligence at its fullest potential.
Look at the normal distribution of human intelligence. All you said applies to the top ~20%. The rest are replaceable by AI. Applies in most domains
This is true. As the famous investor Charlie Munger once joked - "we need artificial intelligence because we are so short of the real thing"
Seems like suffering from ostrich syndrome. Just by buring your head in sand will not save you. The danger of this massive job erosion is here.
AI will replace techies, So what to do?
Yes there are abstract answers but can someone please clarify how to and what to do, also layoff fear is all around us. Please drop your valuable advice.
Thanks in advance.
