
I have a strong sense that EM for my pod is trying to setup a good cop bad cop system in the pod. I am the tech lead for the pod.
There's a new person in my team she has come from another team under him. Now she doesn't report to me directly and my Manager also doesn't know about her whereabouts most of the time or so it seems, but she is always able to stay immune from a lot of fire that comes towards the pod. Also, a new intern has joined 2 days back. Manager tends to put me down and cut me off very often in front of him. I have a strong feeling he is insecure about something. Not able to point out and address that.

I know. It doesn't look good on me coming out in the day and ranting over here.
But I had to get this out with a hope for some response to guide my anxiety.
Changing team or technical contribution may be a long shot, it will take months ! Plus I want to do my best before getting out.
But sometimes all of my focus on contributing in one direction becomes so exhausting that I need to breakout somewhere to get my head straight.
Now I'm worried I would be traced back and what might happen next. 😅

Who is the good cop here? I don’t think you get the idea of good cop bad cop 😄 On a serious note, focus on technical contributions. If there is too much politics, try to switch teams or look out for better opportunities.
