In the beginning, everyone was like "Why do we need grocery in 10 mins". Then it became normal. And now we're on to unimaginable stuff.

Not sure if we ever needed glasses for 10 mins. If it's not worse for the environment, and can be done with good economics, it's actually the best thing ever.

I'm just baffled at how every new thing is first criticized by everyone. Then, if it's truly amazing, it becomes the new normal very soon.

The real growth I want to see in 10-minute delivery is to expand to Tier 2/3 cities.
These collab with Lenskart/sony is just noice and will fade away soon.

Agree with you on that one. The real test is whether this succeeds in more cities (just like food delivery did)

BUT. What if you can actually hypothetically overtake Amazon for the most ordered items in India's top 20-30 cities. That might be the approach here... basis what Zomato has been publically saying

I am not sure about the economics because my convos with delivery boys revealed they make more per delivery against delivery charges. Some money will come from product commissions. I am eagerly waiting for quarterly results.

but

considering environment, considering the TG here as middle class/upper middle class. 70-80% might take a car/taxi out for shopping, especially in metros. Plus batching some of the orders may result in less carbon footprints overall. EV fleets can add another margin, won’t go in debate of how EVs are produced and all.

Fair points. Might be better for the environment
