The more I attend Indian fat weddings, The more convinced I am to do a court marriage.

Do court marriage and convince parents from both ends to utilise the wedding budget as down payment for a home. I cannot think of a better outcome than this.

Indian weddings became fat after unnecessary parts for included into it like pre wedding shoots, or treating it like an opportunity to showcase social standings. If the wedding are treated how it has to be, then i Dian weddings are not fat. People who talk of using that money for down payment a housing loan will be the first to fly abroad for honeymoon. A wedding is supposed to be religious/social affair. A chance for the family/clan to get together.

Best decision for kids indeed but not for parents who have dreamt about the big fat wedding of their kids all their lives. And let’s not even talk about it if you are a single child.

I wish all parents can think like that. On the other side, sometimes such (IMP)events bring the families together.
