Is Mtech From IIT worth

Ok, Does being from IIT mtech give you an advantage in company selection?

Does it open new roles like research in companies which might not be available to a btech graduate ?

What's the particular edge you have seen that Mtech provides?

I personally like the idea of academia where i can research and contribute in some new technologies but if anyone has real world experience and tell me the truth It would be great

Thank you

Mtech from old-IITs, IISc, IIITH in CS and Electronics/Communication are good. Don't be pulled into academia so early. It's gold from outside and a lot of muck from inside. It's unlikely that you will end up in research even after an Mtech or MS abroad. Such roles are just scarce. Certain large companies hire Mtech for specific roles because they require specialisations. These are not really research roles but require some exposure to research or some specialisation. However you won't be paid higher than someone with the same yoe as a Btech in another role.

No Nada Zilch. Not even the 5th year of a dual degree.

I have seen many people land really good roles after M.Tech (CSE). For any other branch i wouldn't recommend.
