It's only Indians who expect to be avilable in both IST during the day and attend US calls with full attention from 6-9pm. Paid peanuts for serving two timezones. The burnout is so real that even if you logout, the mind doesn't logout quick
Never overwork, you lose your piece of mind, sleep, and health gets ruined.
Employees who attend US calls usually don’t start working till past noon though
We are told so. But then there are developers who login at 9am and they need an update on priorities. Until the PM logs in, checks all Jira and emails, there can be blockers for the team
But you need to start your day from 11, cz at the start of the day your manager expects you to check if there was issue from client's end during last night's usage(US timing), and also prepare the deck. ALL OF THIS BEFORE EVEN THE OFFICE HOURS START!!!
It's peer pressure that makes us do shit. Any industry with such high working population will face this. It's has nothing to do with country. This is just demand supply economics.
If you had a chance to work with Koreans or Chinese will be able to relate. People in US working in trade finance are in same condition.
If you don't do it, your coworker will step in for a few brownie points. Nothing can be done.
