Joker 2 is a masterpiece!
For all the movie geeks and Gen Z movie go-ers who have started their movie watching journey after MCU boom, please don't be so naive. The Joker, was hit because of Todd Philips's excellent story telling, and the way he ended this in a two part series is amazing as well.
Folie à Deux is not only a sequel, but if seen from a larger perspective shows why Joker does what Joker does.
Let's disconnect Joaquin's Joker duology for a second.
First part shows Arthur was being treated like shit, and hence his alter ego takes the responsibility to do what he did.
What is the corelation with DC's other Jokers then?
Well easy. Just see Heath's Joker, he comes outta no where and starts targeting the powerful and the wonderfuls of the Gotham all of a sudden but all these are those who have treated the powerless like shit. Bruce is not his enemy, Bruce is the one who tries to stop Joker but when Joker got a chance to get killed by Batman, he doesn't hesitates because he knows that's gonna happen and him getting killed will only make his ideology spread, and it will spread more widely is Batman is the one doing it.
Good for us, Nolan didn't show anything like that, but Todd Philips's Joker is the one who connects all the dots for the Joker being the Joker.
If he would've directed the same movie without the musicals and a little bit of cameos, this movie would've been a legendary one, but hey someone said - "A good director is the one who directs movies for himself"
And that's what Todd did, and I'm not at all disappointed with this.
Say whatever you guys want to say, Joker Folie à Deux gave the JOKER WHAT HE DESERVED!

Bravo You have given it more thought than Todd Phillips did

Thanks for the compliment (Hoping it isn't sarcastic 🥲😅)
