Lapatta Ladies not gonna win Oscars (will be glad to be proven wrong)

It is great story from Indian perspective, because we have lived through it, seen it around all our lives

But It doesn't have International connect. How Parasite was, remember that car scene after the flooding rains. All, could relate with poor-rich gap.

Something that connects human across countries, common emotions or way of life - wins Oscars.

Indians always do, hoping this year (too) we'll win

I do feel that there were a lot of “common emotions” in the film that anyone could understand regardless of knowing rural India or not

A woman struggling to continue her education, another struggling to go back home and their interactions with the mundane life of others around them.

Entry to oscars is a good thing atleast for promotions even if it won’t win

Do you think the West relates to these emotions?

Relating, maybe not because they don’t live here. But then not all of us are living in that same village anyway. We relate to it due to the proximity maybe

Same way, we might not relate to their stories. But we get the message no

Am I making any sense?

Only if it had more poor India, hungry India it would've won an Oscar easily

Facts. Laapata Ladies shouldn’t have been sent considering that we also had All we imagine as light this year which already won the second best movie at Cannes this year
