I'm seeking advice on how to handle a sensitive situation that's been affecting my well-being. As a young woman in my 30s, I'm still unmarried and my younger cousins or relatives have all gotten married. While I'm genuinely happy for them, I sometimes feel pressure and low self-esteem when people ask me when I'll be getting married or imply that something is wrong with me for not being married yet. It's not like i don't want to however in a vunurable situation when it comes to emotional connection stuff.I am a bigtime dog lover and I am happy being with my dog and parents too.
As someone who values my family's opinions and approval, it's hard for me to ignore these comments and not take them personally. How can I deal with these kinds of situations in a healthy way and maintain my self-confidence despite societal expectations?"
It’s better to be single rather than ending up in a wrong relationship just to satisfy the society expectations. Even if you get married, they won’t stop there. People might ask when are you getting kids next? So just chill and do help your parents in every way you can!
Ignore remarks from bitter folks. It is better to live single than to marry a wrong person.
I completely understand how you're feeling. It's really tough when society places so much pressure on personal milestones like marriage. But remember, everyone's journey is different, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being happy on your own terms. You’re doing great, and it's okay to prioritize your emotional well-being and focus on the things that truly make you happy, like your dog and family. People might make insensitive comments, but those don't define your worth or your path. Stay true to yourself, and know that your happiness and self-worth are what matter the most. You're not alone in this, and it’s okay to set boundaries with others if their words affect you. You’re amazing just as you are
