MBA after 12 years of experience worth it?

I wanted to understand if it's worth going for an MBA after having worked for 12 years in energy sector. I currently work as a Manager in a consulting firm and all the senior roles require MBA everywhere. It seems like my career growth will be limited or slow if I don't have that MBA tag.

Depends what you want out of it

  1. A role change that you are not able to get otherwise without it -> Justified
  2. A significant salary jump (say you're earning less than 20-25L and feel it will help you earn at least 50-70% more) -> Justified

Other things are a bit hyped. Networking is hyped. You should get some outcome from it (unless you want to do it as a break from life)

At your level of experience - a part time MBA or exec MBA is the more likely choice. The regular MBA is for much younger folks

I think the MBA these days has more notional value than real value. Go to a course only if it actually does something more than being just a 'tag'

Contemplating if I should get an MBA mainly with the goal...
