Meetings eating up a big chunk of time
How do you guys approach to completing your tasks which are adjusted to be completed in 40 hours (or whatever amount of time is standard in your company) when 25% of the time goes in meetings and calls only?
Do an audit of the week gone by on a Friday evening.
Figure out which meetings were a waste of time. Don't attend them the next week.
If your daily mandatory standups are a time suck - discuss it with your manager and ask them to optimize.
Use the "reject" button mercilessly on meeting requests. If inevitable, ask people if you are a must have or a good to have in the meeting.
Unfortunately a most of the over stretched meetings are the ones with CEO and CTO, so can't really skip
Those are the worst :)
Can you start asking them what is the expectation from you attending the meeting?
Can you send a pre-read to them the say before the meeting that cuts down meeting time to focus on queries on your submissions?
