The starting role used to be Software Engineer for freshers. Now they have added an Associate Software Engineer role for freshers which is a level lower than Software Engineer (SDE 1) and the pay will be relatively lower

Swiggy is a dumb business idea. They can make the most efficient algorithms, but at the end of the day, they need to operate on an unrealistic scale to be profitable.

There's not much margin in only deliveries. Not to mention, restaurants are also aware of what a scam Zomato and Swiggy are. Many places are going to be just as successful without Swiggy.

That's such a lucklustre and lazy statement for companies that have joined the hyper local delivery universe in India. Not talking about their profitability as of now. Care to mention what this "scam" is?

Respectfully, I don't think we can have an unbiased discussion because you work for Swiggy.

As for the scam, let me word it better, for a successful place, unless they're sending out a lot of orders with Swiggy or Zomato (which won't be the case for most joints in most places), they're on the short stick. Those who work with Swiggy/Zomato have told me that the policies of both are hurting them, when it comes to discount, Swiggy/Zomato's markup and how they used to handle refunds.

For most chains in most places, walk in business is going to be more profitable. This shrinks the pool of businesses that can use Swiggy/Zomato. I think numbers game is just against them in most places.

I think it's very relevant since most of India doesn't live in T1 cities where Swiggy/Zomato might be worth it for sellers.

I think it's a cycle. The truth behind the sky high salaries was not talent but zero interest rate money.

Swiggy is in a maintenance mode now, and needs more aSDE roles for product enhancements. The underlying platforms are mature to handle new business lines and at impressive scale.
