For long term investing, you need to go with mid cap or small cap funds but be careful while selecting mid cap and small cap funds becos cost of wrong fund is too high.
ELSS funds are for taking tax benefit. It's surely good. But it has lockin period of 3 years. So you need to keep in mind of lockin period.
