My answer to those who think changing jobs every year is a bad thing.
Is changing jobs every year bad for a resume? If you ask yourself questions like this, think for a second. Think one more time. Always think in loops;
- Is this bad?
No. Reverse your thinking.
- Why would it be bad?
And always try to answer those questions on your CV if you feel your CV isnt suited for the role. A resume is a flimsy piece of paper that should describe you.
You as a character, your line of reasoning and ability to connect dots, your traits, hobbies, your background, a glance over it and it should sort of describe you!
Now that could mean you are getting bored quickly and job hop all around after you entered the firm to get some shit done. Therefore your CV shows a new firm every year. A real do-er.
That tells me, you could have
- a get shit done mentality
- I couldn't get that promotion, left the ship to get a higher status mentality not being able to hold jobs could indicate some mental related issues… etc
Now reverse engineer your question; why would it be bad?
-
I'm a large institutional employer and I look for a person who gets shit done. Your CV could be tailored for just that.
-
I'm a fin-tech small start-up and look for loyalty Your job hopping could be a problem. etc.
All this revolves around thinking. Come on, give it a try.
