My hustle mindset backfired and Lost all,but am happy
I got into a startup (informal) and invested my savings and also took loan from friends and family.
It would take a couple of years to clear up but I am happy thwt I didn't let go.of the opportunity and the learnings also realised the following. 1.I enjoyed the thrill 2.When something has to go wrong,It will 3.My priorities changed (family, health, mental peace) 4.I am enjoying what I have more than ever and not cribbing about what I don't have.
I am about to touch 40 and lose all savings(instead loans on the head) but I have never felt so calm ;)
Anyone with a similar life altering experience 😉

@Angrybirdd - would you pls throw more light on this topic. How did you invest in this startup and how much? Also what would be the main learnings from this ?

By the sound of it, looks like they invested major capital for sure.

What the startup was about doesn't matter in this context. Learning listed in the post.... And some additional below
-
Shit happens and whatever happens, you have to embrace it with a positive mind and work towards what's best for you.
-
You will lose your mind, overpowered by your insecurities but you have to gain control of yourself and bounce back...no matter what, the past has passed and you cannot lose your present over the past and screw your future.
-
Also don't lose your hustle mindset.... You never know when you hit the jackpot.
4.Sometimes I do get into anxiety mode, but then I have prioritised my family, health, peace
5.I have navigated 13 months with all this shit and I survived so I will survive more and I m working on myself now rather than any other venture.
- I will again get into a hustle with my learnings but will work on the risk mitigation measures more....
As said in the Shark tank "Down but not out" 😔

What was the startup? How did you loose it? Do you have kids 😨

I would not like to go deep into what it was was and how I lost.... It would be a long story ( shorter verysion don't give the right perspective) and I don't have kids and nor do I intend to have 😉

@Angrybirdd - at least tell us the teachings you got. Also how did you invest

#3 is most critical. Kudos on that!
Don’t let that go.

Thanks ...you are a Mentor/Adv so what kind of mentorship/Advising do you do

Arre, We spoke on call yday/day before. Mai wahi huun 😁
Mentor/Advisor is mostly from lingo, I help startups on everything and anything in my capability. Fund raise, growth, org building, product mgt, hiring, metrics to look out for, and weird ideas. 😀

Legend

At 40 you still have 15-20 years to cover up for the fuck up.
Always look on the bright side of life mate.
Family> health > money.

Yes indeed... I am happy I satisfied the keera in me to do what I wanted.

You may think you’re out of it, but pretty soon you’ll want to hustle again. That’s what I thought when I was winding down my own venture. It was bootstrapped though. Joined another organisation and took loans so that the thought of starting up has no space in my head. 3 years later, I just wanna close all loans again and get back to building something.

It still would be great to understand if you could shed some light into what the context of the startup was and how/why it went wrong. People going through the same could definitely benefit from it.

Everyone has their own journey...let them figure things out...
What might not have worked for me,have worked for others ...there are a lot of things, timing, execution so why discourage someone who can be successful.

Life mein bas ye confidence chahiye…

I feel you and I wish you all the best!
