Need suggestion for birthday celebrating by giving back to society

I’m planning to celebrate my birthday but I’m not sure how to go about it. I would appreciate some suggestions. Here are a few ideas I have in mind:

  1. Volunteering at a meaningful place: I’d like to contribute not just financially but with my time and effort to help elderly people, individuals with disabilities, orphans, or others in need. However, I’m not sure about the places in Bangalore where I can go and where people would be open to my help. Any suggestions for NGOs, care homes, or shelters that welcome volunteers would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Cooking and distributing food: I’m planning to prepare some homemade dishes and distribute them to underprivileged people. However, I’m unsure where I can find people in need, as the area where I live in Bangalore makes it challenging to locate them. Guidance on where and how to go about this would be helpful.

  3. Partner with a Food Bank or NGO: Collaborate with organizations like Robin Hood Army or Feeding India to contribute food or help with their ongoing food distribution drives.

  4. Sponsor a Day of Learning: Partner with an NGO to organize a day of educational workshops or fun learning activities for underprivileged children. You could teach them basic skills like art, storytelling, or even personal hygiene.

If you have any idea regarding this please let me know

Helping society is a good thing. But most of us leave our family and go around trying to help society.

IMO, Instead of helping society, start within family. Am sure we all have a fallen relative, help them get back on feet. That would mean more and build better relationships.

Majorly in my family is fortunate enough that they have more than enough and I can easily see many folks who really need care. So that's why I want a better platform which ease out my process.

  1. Donate blood to the blood bank
  2. Go to any religious or railway station or bus stand and give food to someone who is aged old or are special people
  3. Visit a nearby old age home and have food with them ..even joining them for lunch will make them feel their son or daughter is having it with them
  4. Buy some clothes for kids who are near signal or orphanage
  5. Depending upon your budget go talk to the under previllage family and say you want to sponsor the kids education till 10th or even for 1 year and keep a track of their progress
  6. Open a small temporary stall on a road and physically serve some food..see you will get more people than you thought like near a construction site etc

You can consider visiting Homes taking care of Specially Challenged people and Orphaned elders. Sponsor food for them by hiring a catering crew. Kindly avoid processed foods.
