Negotiating Salary but..

I hold an offer from a company and they have shared with me the onboarding process for background verification and that has to be completed within 3 days. DOJ: Feb 2nd week

However I'm still attending interviews to match/negotiate for a better compensation and these interviews can take a week or so.

Is it okay to complete the document verification process and later get an offer to negotiate for a matching compensation with the current company or should I stall from completing the document verification process till I get an offer?

Do it. Everyone is looking at for themselves so should you.

They won’t think twice before firing you so do what you feel is right

Go through the process. You have time till the DOJ to reject them if you get a better offer. But re-negotiating after you have accepted an offer is a strict no.

So you will tell others you are already holding on offer and expect them to beat or match it. All the while lying to your prospective employer.

Some people will tell you what you are doing is smart. Im here to tell you that your relationship with your new employer will probably suck because you wanted to optimise for a few lakhs.

It would be considered unethical by the new company you’re joining and won’t be the best way to start at a new place, although a lot of people do this already anyway.
