New company sent dirty laptop
I am joining an e-commerce startup next week. They sent an old used laptop. Old laptop is OK, companies do it all the time but this laptop was dirty. They didn't even try to refurbish it. I feel pissed off. What should I do?

It happens all the time in small orgs. In a past org, some employee left after working for 5-6 months and I got their laptop. It was well set up, fast but not clean. Now my local IT guy gave me that. He is IIT 9 pointer. A great highly skilled guy who primarily used to handle server and was a data engineer. At times he used to handle occasional IT set up request in Hyderabad like he did for me. It was easier for everyone to do it like that. He is not really expected to "clean" my laptop. It is like a kind of good Jugad company had. The company culture was excellent, people were closely connected. So don't overreact unless you know the story. At times, in small organisations, lot of things happen. Next I worked in a big company where it was unimaginable to give second hand laptop however new they were. It really depends on organisation & their size and culture

Return the laptop if it's not new. Why would you even use a used laptop. This is something which I have never seen.
