GenZ comprises of young population who were born between 2000-2005. Since 2020 indian corporate sector is witnessing genzs as new entrants in the workforce. And it is set to comprise nearly 50% of the total employees in the next five years.
But GenZ s have been in the news recently for their novel approach to profession. Employers and bosses are finding it hard time to deal with the new work culture youngsters bringing along with them.
Some of the traits of the above can be put as follows :
- Intolerance towards toxic boss
- Non-identification with the company
- Focus on purpose in work i.e. something beyond earning money and rising above just earning money.
- Time for themselves
Guidelines to be followed for GenZ employees :
- Limiting working hours to maximum 6 (3+3) hrs per day and 4-5 days per week. Ideal would be to follow 4 hrs per day.
- Formulate clear and concrete guidelines and SOPs.
- There is a need to introduce neo-fordism method of workmanship. Works should be much more specialised and divided among the employees. Employers should stay away to provide multitasking to employees.
- Allow moonlighting.
- Introduce outsourcing of maximum possible processes in business management as much as possible, business secrets must also be considered while doing so.
- Not to expect any kind of identification with the company from the employees.
