One colleague who gives off vibe from the first day
I work in a small team startup, everyone takes up more roles than our designations talk about. BUt it is fun, the team is fun to work with. We crack jokes and work happens along the way.
But this guy in Marketing, he is a sweet assh0le. You know people who are yes man on face, and behind have list of excuses.
I take care of sales and partnerships as part of strategy planning. I needed some data, I asked him on Whatsapp (slack isn't used much). He said I will give. A week later, I casually put this on all hands team WA group (founders are there on it). He still does nothing.
Writing this I realised, the founders don't know if he sent the data or not. I never brought up the issue. The data isn't very crucial, but good to have.
Everytime you ask this man after campaign updates, he will give all kinds of vague responses. I doubt he even works, but everyone seems okay with him so who am I to complain

Probably should start using slack more. And communicate these issues on a public channel. You can go on the same thread like “reminding you 7th time to send the reports so I can improve X”.
Public communications are good for record keeping and makes people feel responsible

This is natural behaviour of all marketing teams.

If his behavior is affecting org's work and metrics, you have to highlight that. Give him time to fix, if still he doesn't, escalate.

Since when is Microsoft a small team startup?
