One for the believers: Which startups in India do you feel are going to make it really big? 🚀

Let's ignore what's wrong with startups, keep this an optimistic thread. Which startups make you excited about their future? The ones that have cracked product, GTM, model, or something else.

Name the best Indian startups :)

To begin, I'd say: Razorpay, Swiggy/Zomato, UC are some that definitely stand out for me. I wish I could have been an early team member in any of these teams.

I also want to give a shoutout to Cred. I never imagined I'd say this, but that business has convinced me that taking the long, tough, burn-filled route can sometimes be worth it. Hear they're now doing about $100-200Mn in revenue and demonstrate a great growth rate.

I know takes are limited, but happy to hear more.

They’re slow indeed in being profitable
But I’m certain they’ll make it eventually

Ultra human. Health tech startups focused towards the top/middle class band gonna make tons of money and then have a potential exit to the medical cos. Good business once you are over the initial boring period

Very big "if" in my opinion.

I've looked at them closely and they have a fundamental problem where anyone outside their niche of fitness freaks is simply not [a] motivated and [b] willing to pay for the kind of products they make. They might be able to fix [b] over years (IF they manage to survive this degree of burn), but [a] is incredibly hard to fix.

They need a more relatable value prop to move volume and make the upper middle class buy their products. High prices + no mass market PMF = zombie start-up in my opinion.

Sprinto, very underrated and low key, but already top 3 globally in its industry.

Doing double digit millions in ARR, strong GTM in the US, operating in a $30B market which will 2.5x in the next five years.

My personal bet would be on 2 companies

  1. Swiggy
  2. Rapido

The innovation culture is pretty good at Swiggy and it is trying to diversify as well. Some of the recent business line at Swiggy have shown good growth and hopefully will continue on the positive trajectory.

Rapido , I am not sure why - may be I was one of their first customers when they launched ( interesting story , I was their customer no #2 in Noida back then ) . Have seen them growing very fast and as I heard , they are already on the path to beat Ola and Uber bikes.

@Rorschach why TAC specifically? Curious..

Use their body lotion, it’s nice.

I've used their shampoos and other products, very good quality that they have managed to maintain over the years. And their revenue is pretty high too, recently funded as well. Team is solid and seems poised for mass market growth.
