I want to start a retail business for fragrance as a side hustle, will it be sensible to go for an online marketplace like Amazon , Flipkart or I should go for my own website using third party applications?

Personally would suggest you to go through Amazon because it can give you reach instantaneously. Making your own website will require you to do a lot of marketing/advertising on Instagram/Fb which will eat your income from sales. Maybe you can do a cost comparison on advertising with social media vs the cut taken by Amazon/Flipkart/Meesho
