Procrastination is an invisible an demon, and it slaughters me every f&%king day
Imagine your parents who gave everything in past 20 years to nurture you while you were growing up. Made sacrifices which weren't easy to be made, took the pain.
Then there's me. Even putting effort to complete that personal SAAS software feels like climbing Everest. Which is a funny paradox considering the fact that I actually like coding.
I wasted my 3rd year in college by not studying DSA and stuff, ended up in TCS with a 23k month salary.
Wasted the 2.5 years of time in TCS, by not doing the same thing.
I did get a 100% hike at a Web3 startup that I joined later, but I was just "lucky" as I didnt have to go through the conventional interview process, since Web3 was getting the hype and most startups were hiring those who expressed interest in Web3 with a decent Software experience. And you guessed it right, I still didn't prepare for DSA for the next 2 years.
After this, I again got an offer from another Web3 startup, and this time got a 3x hike on my prev salary. And yes, even this time also I was "lucky" as the interview was too easy with no DSA, System Design, LLD, nothing.
So, here I am with 5 years of experience and no DSA and System Design skills. I am making no excuses, this is all my fault.
My parents never procrastinated when it came to taking responsibilities, but I am doing it.
I know this battle this demon with full agression and win this fight. But, I guess its rather easy and motivating to fight an emeny who you can see......
Yeah sounds good java is better for llm things, saw this on you tube you might want to check it out
I already have a good 3 years of exp in Golang, as its more prominently used in Web3 compared to Java. I am looking pivot back to Web2 as well so filling in my backend eng gaps by learning stuff from Youtube. So, I am not sure if I should make a switch to Java at this point?
Yeah go Lang is pretty popular in startups, pivoting to java would be pointless if not required.
It would be the same story for most of the people who started their career with service based companies, if their curiosity and enthusiasm are still alive(not diminished due to corporate blood sucking) then most of them are going through this phase, learning stuff and looking for better opportunities.
