I hate these metal & glass behemoths with a passion. There's something so soulless about them, they make me feel insignificant as an individual — perhaps because in these environments only a part of me is acknowledged, and not the whole. These structures are like an organism of its own — colossal and intimidating — that, like a virus, barely living itself, manages to stay alive only by leeching the life force from its occupants (the workers) and surroundings (notice the lack of greens?).
