Need full stack developer with 2 yoe, Hyd, 40-50k pm. Possible?
Planning to hire minimum 2 yrs experienced full stack developer to work for a logistics startup. Skills - Php and React
Grapevine has become like the epitome of people flaunting unrealistic salaries ( the bubble will soon break )🤐,So thought of why not post some realistic ones based upon the Y.o.E range for the IT folks from our knowledge and our interactions with our friends and colleagues. We can exclude very niche skills here and see where everyone stands. I can begin. ( Have considered just the base pay and not the variable or esops/rsu here )
1-4 Y.o.E : 4-8 Lacs 5-8 Y.o.E : 9-20 Lacs 9-12 Y.o.E : 21-35/40 Lacs 13-16 Y.o.E : 35/40-50+ Lacs
I’m in security. So the first slab (where I’ll fall), I guess, can be increased. Having 4 yoe will earn you around 15+ and 3 yoe will be close to 12+, etc. Starting is obviously 4 lpa!
The salary range seems way too low! Atleast for the IT folks
Yeah ..this is just my observation ..that's why I asked for ranges from you guyz too 😀
You can't really say, depends on company, profession, work, impact, how desperate someone is to get you
Sorry disagree with the subject line here, who is defining what is realistic and unrealistic in terms of salary. Considering averages doesn't make sense. It is important to know the ranges yes, but beyond that each individual should try to stay updated with their market value, talk to recruiters get offers, understand what is the budget for your skill (whether or not you are planning to shift your job).
Just going by averages will make you underpaid soon (if not already).
Regarding the salaries posted on the other threads i personally know folks getting paid those amounts or even more :), so they are not far fetched as such.
We can all agree to disagree 😊 Just putting my point and also put these salaries as per my observation and my discussion with my peer group. These can definitely vary and thus have asked clearly if others can also put up their experiences. These are just ball park numbers .
Sure :). Just wanted to highlight the 2 points that's all 1- Averages are misleading, so never cap potential based on an average 2-Collect information on valuation of skill periodically, not every company is pro-active in making market based corrections. So its our responsibility to make sure we know the entire range (min, max) and we understand what it takes to maximise the potential value. Grapevine does give a window into that valuation (range). We can also talk to recruiters to validate these range for our skills (take every inbound recruiter message as that opportunity to validate 😊)
Cheers
0-1 : 4-9 lpa 0-3: 10-15 lpa 4-6: 16-25lpa 7-9: 26-35lpa 10+: 36-50+ lpa
Though I would say getting a hike on the base after 20lpa is very difficult as it depends on which field you are working. Most tech folks migrate to managerial Roles for more growth.
True ,after 20 lpa it somewhat becomes difficult

Am I underpaid ? I have more than 5 years of experience as a Java Fullstack and Backend Developer. CCTC - 18LPA (Base - 16.2 LPA + Variable - 1.8 LPA)
Hi, i am senior developer with 30 LPA, i am planing to switch as work is not exciting anymore what should be my realistic expectations? I have read post where people with same yoe get more money and other post where people get less money...
I am working in SAP as full stack developer from past 15 years and getting only 35 lakhs ctc. Whereas here in grapevine i can see salaries ranging till 2 crore or so for software engineers. How can that be? I am interested in programming...
