Salary negotiation
In India, it's the norm where candidate has to show all his cards (past 3 salary slips or increment letter etc) to prospect employer which sets the benchmark. However, the candidate usually has no idea abt the pay range for the JD, the KRAs, team strength, budget, and the monetary value he is expected to bring to the firm. Most firms also put 90day notice period which makes it difficult to change jobs.
How do you folks try to negotiate pay? What %hike over current is a starting point? If no other offer is in hand, but the firm is strong arming you to a less pay, how have you/would you negotiated in such scenario?

I've switched mostly at 100% Anything less, they gotta offer something really good in return (In my last switch, I made the exception to join at a 60% hike since the people seemed very nice and humble)
And I've made sure to join places that have a 1 month notice since that's a good starting benchmark for how a company looks like without even joining.

Upskill and become so good that they can't say no to you. Negotiations and worrying about payslips becomes a thing of the past.
