SDE2 PhonePe (Pincode) - How is pincode?
I received a verbal offer from PhonePe pincode. Offered TC: 42L, 4L JB, 32L stocks (4 years vesting)
- How is the Pincode team, specifically interested to know about WLB and work quality?
- I also heard a couple of bad reviews, so wanted to understand anything else which I should be aware of.
- How is the flexibility? WFH etc. Do we have to go to office at set hours?

Does 42lpa include the 32l stock and joining bonus?, if yes then 6lpa is too low for SDE2.

Irrespective of what's being said, it will die in 2 years. Will hurt our esops, but the business model will never work out into a big opportunity. It will trickle in revenue before the management is forced to eat a humble pie

What is comp for a SPM at PhonePe? Any idea with breakup, would be of extreme help.
You won't get WFH there for sure.I'm telling you with my experience. Pincode CTO mailed that for more than two days of work from home we have to get approval from him and less than two days you have to take approval from the manager. I still don't understand why for such small things we need approval from CTO level.
Overall the WLB and work quality I don't like there in the Pincode team.
Pincode as a product also is not successful and hardly anybody uses it in Bangalore in the era of quick commerce like Zepto Blinkit. This is working because of the backing of the phonepe. This year's hikes are in single digits. Only a few people got hiked in a double digit like 11 to 15% max.
If you can change the team you should try for any other team here at Phonepe. Phonepe's reputation as a company is quite good in the market. Try for any other team if no option then join the pincode at last.

- Its alright. Lots of chaos most of the time, however 1-2 sub teams are well structured (wlb and quality is pod dependent)

- Flexibility has dropped quite a bit afaik. While there are no set hours per say, I think you’ll have to be in office from 11-6

WLB and flexibility is not possible. It's hustle culture. No set hours but you have to be in office everyday. Only work from home you will get is you would be work after office hours.
Tech would be good. It will operate like startup in terms of feature delivery. Scale is not there in pincode. Pincode is not used much and not growing. There is a high chance that pincode is dead in next 1-2 years. Don't expect much on hikes.
