Should I lower my salary expectation while applying for a new job? Can it become a reason of rejecting candidature?

I am open to discussion and negotiation, but I don’t want my application to get rejected. I’ve mentioned 60% hike.

Guys my query is seeing my expected CTC will they consider discussing if they can’t match it or directly reject my application?

Go to Glassdoor or leetcode/compensation and check what they are offering for that role. It's usually better to quote that price range. Anything over that....I won't say you'll get rejected ....the chances are less is what I'm saying.

Also , whenever you quote a price , quote a range , not exact. And make sure the starting range is what you expect. Not the end range. They'll lowball you otherwise

60% hike is ambitious but not impossible if you have strong skills. Be open to negotiation, but don't undersell yourself
