Should I Stay or Quit? Need Guidance on Career Transition
I have been working for over a year in the Guidewire domain, but I’ve realized that I’m not interested in it, and the demand seems quite limited. I don’t have experience outside of Guidewire, but I’ve started learning new technologies. I’ve completed HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and now I’m moving on to React and Node.js while also working on DSA in parallel.
Honestly, I feel exhausted and mentally drained working in Guidewire. My current project has ended, and when I asked to be moved to a different domain or put on the bench, my manager told me that I either have to work in Guidewire or resign. The workload in a new GW project will be high, and I’ll only get weekends to study. At this pace, I don’t know how long it will take for me to upskill and switch jobs.
My heart says to resign and give it my all for preparation, but my mind knows the current market situation. I’m completely torn and don’t know what to do.
