You try to cripple opportunities for everyone else. That next talent will never be discovered, there will be no one to usurp you. You win, that's all that matters.
Greed gets the better of everyone in the end. History is filled with these examples. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. How have we addressed this weakness? Lowering the standards for those less fortunate in hope of discovering that next talent.
