State of remote jobs in 2024

I recently got an offer from a US based company offering remote work. That makes it two offers, the other being completely from the office.

I read online that remote jobs are not that great especially for freshers. What are your views on this?

And which one should I prefer? Remote job pays 40% less.

Offer 1, completely from the office:

  1. 10L base + 1L retention, with no other benefits. No paid leaves, not even for gazetted holidays. Strict 10 - 6, sometimes I have to work on Saturday too.

  2. Small start-up with a team of 5 developers, the product is already earning money, we are required to work on creating new features to get more clients

Offer 2, remote

  1. 7.5 base with other benefits like health etc., 52 paid leaves annually.
  2. 4 hours compulsory from 830 pm to 1230 am, the other 4 hours are flexible. 40 hours a week.

@igotyou Why does the remote job pay 40% less compared to the one going to the office? Are the work hours requirements different, where you have to work less in the remote job?
