TCS : "Ethical" Tata doing what ethical Tata does
After they didn't see the required resignations from 5 day office, now TCS is asking employees to transfer to locations with just 2 week notice.

Nothing unethical about it. Everyone there would have signed the legal hr mumbo jumbo to do whatever the hell the company wants them to do.
That's legal, yes. But not ethical. They boldly claim that they will be ethical with integrity. They talk about integrating social principles in their business. Say they'll caring and collaborative relationship with their employees based on trust and mutual respect. (Pause for a 5 min laugh)
Then go on to abuse employees like this. If they want to fire, just fire them directly with a severance. Why make them jump here and there?
Because they don't want to pay severance lol
The article itself says that employees will get relocation benefits. If you are getting the benefits then it doesn't matter when they want you to move.
And there is no transfer in the world which doesn't get criticism.
Uprooting your entire life and moving to a different part of country with your family and kids is justifiable because they are providing travel and stay reimbursement? Transfers induce a lot of stress and anxiety, and honestly travel and stay is least of one's worries.
While your point is right, there is a reason it's called 'Naukari' you are their 'naukar'.
Feel and experience change ho gaya ho time ke sath, but basics to abhi bhi wahi hai.
Let's be very clear. Companies like TCS, INFY, WIPRO etc never invested the profits they made from the past 30 yrs in R&D.
They gave them back to their investors, in the form of a buyback, dividends, bonus etc. instead of investing heavily in AI.
Meanwhile companies like FANGMAN invested all the money in AI to replace the companies like TCS, INFY, WIPRO to reduce costs.
Now since FANGMAN is cutting on their expenses and reducing the budget of these companies, they are going to feel the heat and so will their employees.
So such things will become pretty common in the future even if these companies don't want to do that.
Like in the past 25 years, this is the first time the headcount has been reduced.
Transfers within 2 weeks.
All these are just the weak winds ahead of the heavy storm that is going to come.
Thand rakh chote...faangm isn't cash cow of witch.
Not sure what you mean here but Apple's last year profit was 170B $. More than TCS's current valuation.
Every org transfers people. Its a part of the agreement. Business needs define work location. What is so surprising about this? I am sure people can negotiate timelines if they are willing to move. Hullabaloo over nothing frankly.
imo tcs employees won't even care about this as much foul cry being created on social media, those people are dheet like stone management can kick them around nothing happens.
For those truly impacted would straight out look for something else, no two ways about it, I've been at tcs, different logic works there.
Damn
