TCS now tracks hours spent in the office.

More scary norms are coming soon.

+1 an employee who’s been tracked for time is never going to produce the next Claude or Gemini

I believe, the services industry will be deeply disrupted by AI. The whole premise that we will deploy X people at a per person cost her hour of Y and hence will make X * Y dollars, is just non tenable in the futue.

I am sure they were tracking it earlier too. You are just seeing on a doc now

Considering the number of employees that they have, this is probably the only way to measure productivity at a high level? I can definitely see how monitoring investment to output on talent is really difficult at their scale

With that said, definitely a big hassle for employees. Not all of us can be at the peak of our game every day

I agree.

I don't understand why else would they do this. Its is obviously to increase employee productivity.

If WFH increased productivity, companies wouldn't have pushed for WFO at all

TCS- From 75% to 0%, that was pretty fast!

This is absolutely meme material!! They declared that 75% of employees will work from home by 2025, and before even 2025, they reverted that and now claiming everyone to come to office all 5 days!! I mean not even Hybrid, but all 5 days!...
