The Promotion Predicament
I got offered a management role, but I hate the idea of giving up hands-on work. Is moving up always the right move?
I love coding, but the next step up is all meetings and spreadsheets. Am I crazy for considering turning down a promotion?

It may seem like a promotion but it's a trade off. More responsibility and accountability overall for higher pay, most likely lesser wlb too. More variables outside your control, higher risk of layoff.
Nothing wrong with staying hands on as long as you love doing it and are confident in your ability to make the most difference there.
