This number is scary high
It is better tbh. I thought it would be 1 in 3 or less. It is very very common now.
And medical science is shit in dealing with it. Not just India, across the world
nothing surprising, almost all tech world working women sit for 12 hrs day, eat junk food and consider doing home chores as something below thier standard because they are "independent". the only reason 1/5 is because of our population size. Most women who enter workforce become overweight if not obese in 2years of work life.
There is a pharma element involved too. go to a doctor, They wont let a proftibale customer without milking.
Yeah, all this crap about "modern lifestyle causing PCOS in women" like, bruh, forget a 100 years ago, even 30 years ago it was difficult to diagnose women with PCOS Even today there are so many women who don't realise they have endometriosis
Ovaries are very tricky to get right as are hormones There's bound to be some fluctuation every now and then
Earlier doctors would only diagnose women who wouldn't menstruate for MONTHS with PCOS but now they're becoming more open to diagnosing women with regular or semi regular menstruation with PCOS as well because it's seen as a syndrome beyond just a menstrual cycle
