If someone thinks of microblogging, they think of Twitter and it's really really hard to get that off people's mind and change it to something else and it's hard even for Meta. And if you see, even after the Elon Musk acquired it and made a whole lot of changes, Twitter is still called Twitter, no one calls it X and it's still the same. A news app more than a social media platform. And Threads is more of a social media platform based of Instagram, so even the audience is a bit different. This is just my opinion, I might be wrong with these. I don't use both the apps, but if I have to quickly know about something that has happened then I'll fire up Twitter and not Threads, and I think that tells a lot.
