Tips on surviving any Indian company by keeping a calm mind
Hey guys,
I have 5YOE as a java backend engineer, first 3 years were amazing for me, I was in a good company and then I switch to another good company where people were okay but the project was very complex, even after spending 7-8 months it kept getting more and more complex, I couldn't take the stress and resigned after 1 year, went to a mid size service company where I got toxic people and a legacy project which was not easy to work with, after 1 year I resigned from there also.
I think as long as I understand the project and can deliver, I don't mind some toxicity, hence I decided to switch to Data Engineering which is somewhat predictable compared to software Engineer and I'm more comfortable with backend.
I have been jobless since october 2024 to switch to Data Engineering by watching courses and bootcamps and faking my experience in the field.
But now as I'm applying for jobs, the anxiety is coming back, what if the next company is also bad, will I have to keep switching, I'm getting calls from lala and service companies but I'm adamant to not join them.
So I wanted advice from you guys, how do you keep a calm mind when you get complex work and management is creating pressure to deliver quickly, I get stressed and loose my appetite when this happens. I want to learn how to handle such situations where toxic people are there and the work is also complex, how do I keep myself calm, help me out with your wisdom brothers and sisters.
The reason of changing field bc of complex project doesn't seem valid. You may face same situation in the data engineering. The problems are everywhere, they dont go away. I think what you can do instead is learn to set your boundaries, you try your best in the project in 8h & also take good rest. Not keep grinding whole 8h lol. Let say 6h work & 2h breaks and relaxing. Earlier i used to do much work for my client and increasing their expectation from me. So i suggest to keep their expectations low since begging. And yeah focus on the pay in your next role. That's most important.
