Tips/Questions regarding house hunting in Bangalore

Will be moving to Bangalore in a couple of weeks so looking forward to rent a flat asap. The office is in Mahadevapura(Bagmane Tech park)

  1. What are some good localities nearby where I could find apartments in a gated society?
  2. What is the best means to find a flat? (NoBroker, MagicBricks or brokers or a literal house hunt on foot)
  3. Do the brokers charge brokerage every year for renewal of rental agreement?(as is the case in Pune) Anything else to keep in mind?

  1. CV Raman Nagar, Indiranagar etc. Depends upon your budget and travelling comfortabilty.
  2. Identify an area, go in person in a scooty and speak to owners directly whenever you see to-let sign. Stay away from brokers. Been living in Bangalore since 2016 and stayed in 4-5 houses, did the same thing for every house hunting. Staying in 2bhk in Koramangala with 15k rent. You can guess now.
  3. No. One time fee. But avoid brokers at any cost.

Learn Kannada, will be helpful especially dealing with local sabjiwalas and police. Welcome to Garden City!
