Travel : Foreign or India?
How to think about this? Imagine going to travel somewhere and you can't upload a photo or status anywhere. What will you choose? Foreign or India and why?
Context : I have always been an Indian traveller enthusiast. I really have no interest in going to foreign countries to travel. For me, it looks just like a status symbol and nothing more where you just keep on posting status and come back. And I totally understand everyone has their own perspective but one thing which I don't understand is why the people who are travelling to foreign countries feel so cool about themselves. One of my friend (same CTC) travels a lot to foreign countries and he keeps telling me that I must be jealous of his lifestyle which I am not at all. I will definitely be jealous of a person who will be visiting unknown Indian travel spots but not of him.
Why discriminate? What’s up with this sense of nationalism in travel India? I don’t get this. If you are so immune to your colleagues travelling abroad why write a post here? This does bother you unknowingly.
For me I will travel to places which doesn’t have huge crowd and that’s difficult to find in India so mostly abroad but still I prefer road less travelled be it India and abroad.
I ain't discriminating. I am actually asking y'all. And when did I invoke nationalism here? I literally said everyone has their own perspective. I am just asking why people going to foreign places think little of those travelling in India. Get you head out of cancel culture and try to have healthy discussion for once.
Traveling outside your home country opens up your mind and broadens your horizon way more.
Plus, different cultures provide different experiences too, something you won't find back home.
Even I used to think the same but isn't India a land of super diverse cultures? Every state border starts with a new way of celebration of festivals and language.
Doesn't matter where you travel, intention should be to explore and experience, have a good time with your loved ones.
I have travelled to many places in India with family, friends and have found something new each time I have been somewhere. Talking about abroad, that's still on my checklist to first travel abroad and take my family with me.
Yes, I do share pics and some insights on it whenever I post it, just bcoz I like it, and just want to share something abt the place I visit.
I have travelled a lot this last two year (foreign and India), no pictures on social media. Literally more pictures on Grapevine than outside.
Took me some time to realise I'm not travelling to show the world. It's for me, and those pictures are just memories.
I'm earning lesser in hand than I was at this time last year. The perspective towards money and travel has changed.
Are you really that perfect or just pretend to be on GV?😂
Neither. Sit at home, upskilling, save money and live a simple life. With increasing costs, decreasing chances of finding a nice job as you grow older, being financially independent is the only way out. Sometimes I feel the cheapest way to get out of this is by just killing myself. Nothing to worry about or be anxious forever. It’s just peace forever.
