Unique Ideas

Hey guys (gender neutral ), I'm in my pre-final year , I want to build something unique and impactful for the people around the globe. Currently I'm an intern at Booking holdings and upcoming FTE at BlackRock. I'm very confused about how I can build something of my own and skip this 9 to 5 schedule.

I try to think of something unique but every time I find that it's not fresh. So yeaah can anyone help me with it.

You have two options - either find a problem personal to you that you're confident and passionate about solving, or join someone else who is solving something else.

If you do the latter, you will most likely lose motivation fast unless you're seriously interested in that problem.

Former is hard to do unless you really brainstorm hard and talk to many people. Usually becomes easier with working experience, which you don't have yet.

I would recommend joining a startup close to your ideal problems, learning the ropes, then starting your own later.

Yeah sounds very logical to me.

Beta, if you start something of your own, then it's 6am to night 11:30pm. Also, just because it's built doesn't mean you can't build it. Think in terms of, can you build a better version of it.

I think building a better version of something requires funding so for a newbie in startup it doesn't look easy at all

Not necessarily, try capturing a bigger piece of small market. At least you will know what to do next.

You have to look for problems all around. You will have to cultivate ideas according to the problems there are. You have to think about solutions all the time too get ideas and be ready to write things down.
