Wayfair Layoff 1750 Employees Globally
CEO takes full responsibility for company’s shortcomings and eliminates1750 roles today!This is done after already eliminating 900 positions 6 months back!!
Rumor mill is fired up since a week and all meetings with senior leadership this week have been removed from calendars without any notice! Also noticed that several leaders are WFH today. Guessing that is to avoid nervous conversations and to engage in private meetings over phone calls to decide which heads they are going to chop off. The 🔔are going off! Prepare yourselves!
They were hiring like crazy
I have an interview there in December. I did well but mostly saw a lot of unprofessional managers particularly in hiring manager and system design round. For example the manager was trying to ask me what I would do if a colleague is under reforming and kept asking me for an instance where one of my colleagues was under performing. I avoided the question. This was just one of many unprofessional questions.
I then received a reject verdict.
Now I understand why
Lol, cant expect any better from managers in India. They take it on their ego.
There were two managers in the design round. The irony is that one of the managers said he likes conducting this interview by allowing the candidate to drive it. And he kept interrupting me every few minutes
I also found it strange that they were asking the same questions to everyone without any change.

Heard from multiple colleagues that they could cut Ads and AWA teams in India. Wouldn’t be surprised if this happens on Tuesday or Wednesday just before the earnings calls.
