I see many people here talking about it. "Indian culture Indian culture" what will happen if it vanishes, don't tell me bs about "other community" or "western tradition will take over". What will happen if our culture is not here anymore? Also isn't this kind of bs? We won't actually forget who we are, I would still boast about my great grandfather fighting for India during independence to my kids and grandkids.
Even if it vanishes in next 50 years my surname will be same for coming centuries. Even if it vanishes today, my digestive, respiratory systems and other systems would work perfectly normal. I would still remember all my gods and worship them. So my questions are:
What is Indian culture for you?
Why is it important for you (no bs reasons like community taking over, or kids should know this, genuine reasons only please)
What will happen if it vanishes?
If you haven't thought about it, think deeply. Why? What? And How?
That's like saying - how does it matter if we take your property (or your life for instance) away? You are dearly attached to your property (or your life) so you would be extremely opposed to the idea of them being taken away.
Similarly, people are dearly attached to their culture and will oppose the idea of it being taken away.
Nothing changes for you because you're not dearly attached to the culture and hence you do not care. Similarly, nothing changes for others if your property gets taken away because they're not dearly attached to it.
Also even if you don't care, that doesn't mean others would not or should not care too. It's their life and they have the right to care.
Ye kaisa chronology kiya bhai apne? Property mere baap dada ne paisa deke kharida tha if I do kheti on it I can feed my family or if it's a home it will appreciate in value as asset. Of course I care about it, not because of dearly attachment, ek do saal me chala jayega ye sab attachment, but I'll care because it caries a value called money which is essential for me to survive and even afford the luxuries.

Fiat money is as imaginary and as real as cultural essence for some. Your attachment to your money is a modern/materialistic view. But there have been people who do not care about property or money (ancient Jains for eg) too. For them, their cultural essence is the top priority. I'm not taking the side of any of the two views (yours or theirs)- but countering your straight-up invalidation and snide comments on their views. Their views are as valid and as invalid as yours.
Your attachment to your property or money is as rational and as irrational as their attachment to their cultural essence. For them, their cultural essence fulfills their needs and for you your property. In the end, both are attached to their respective items because of their specific hierarchy of needs being met or resolved. Even if it is emotional attachment (not sure if it is), it does serve a purpose for them and hence they prefer their cultural essence over properties.
Obviously, culture vs property is just a hypothetical example for things to be attached to. It could be culture vs anything but I chose property to exemplify attachement.
Tldr - To each their own, live and let live.
If it vanishes we loose everything. Culture is what binds the society, without culture a society can not exists, peace can not exist.
Now in today's context (don't read if you love to suppress truth to not sound Islamophobic): if we loose Indian culture, Islam will take over again, your mother's and daughters will be abducted and raped again, Sharia will come again, Hindus will be massacred again, our history, science, books, libraries will be burnt again. All rights of women will be scrapped, jaziya will come back.
Remember India is not secular because one book so say so it is secular because the majority religion Hindus support it.
So hindus won't abduct my mothers and daughters? There was a case in some IIT where a stalker who went to girls hostel and crossed his limits, as far as I know his surname and name is of hindu.

He also calls himself rambhakt and "the man" mard. As long as I know lord shree ram was the real definition of man, he didn't act out of his anger never troubled citizens, also respected the women.

I am not trying to bring people together, nor do I have intentions to get you to love islam. I am just curious why do you think this way? Ofc someone told you. But why you got convinced? Did something happened that made you think this way? It's okay you can tell, it's anonymous platform.

Culture isn't just about traditions and rituals but also knowledge. Morality and ethics are derived from culture. Our ancestors knew which berry or mushroom is edible in a forest, we don't.
In an apocalyptic survival scenario, it's this knowledge that keeps people together and helps them survive.
We've been in survival mode as a species for all of our existence. Would we still need that knowledge in the future? I would argue yes. We aren't that evolved yet.
Be it stories, bhajans or rituals, religion and culture has something to offer which is why it survived and evolved over so many years.
That's what I am asking what are those morals and ethics? And if it vanishes next day, it won't be like people would forget those ethics. Those ethics and morals will still be passed down to next generation only without the mention of culture.
It will never vanish because it provides value to people in whatever form it is in.
You can't just pass down a set of rules without explaining history or context, otherwise people will keep questioning it or trying to disobey them.
Rules and cultures are formed out of civilizational and historical lessons. They don't form in a vacuum. Millions of humans fucked around and found out so the next generations don't need to repeat their mistakes in the future.
Nothing. Think about 500 year in future. Only things will exists that actually matters for example (eat, sleep, work repeat). Everything else is vestigial.

Indian culture for me is living in a joint family where we share each other's pains, happiness. It's sense of true connect. It's also the nature of treating everyone fair (no hatred towards anyone irrespective of caste, race, religion, foreigners), having compassion and helping nature towards one another and to function as a society where we have neighbours with whom we share a part of our lives
It's important not because it's Indian culture, but because I truly believe we need these things in the world. I want this to exist in my life because I believe it helps me become a better person and one who is closer to family
Well, it's already started to vanish in lots of places. I don't want robotic life where everyone keeps to themselves. I have seen this kind of life generally in high status societies and in some countries. I like a world where people have one another and help one another and I would really like this culture to not perish
