What would you do?

Hello Guys, I would appreciate your advice based on your experience.

I have been working as an Associate Software Engineer in a product-based company for almost a year, after graduating a few months ago.

Recently, I received an offer to work as a Technical Support Engineer in a Web3 based company remotely, with almost double the salary.

How would you approach this situation?

My thoughts are:

  • Since I am at the beginning of my career, I could benefit from exploring this opportunity. (Not to mention the higher pay 😅)
  • Or I could stay in software development and gain more expertise.

If you are the beginning of your career, I would recommend an office environment. Collaboration will give you incremental learning, development and soft skills training. These will invaluable down the line. Not to mention the ability to build professional relationships which will grow your network. While remote opportunities seem enticing, my personal opinion is that they are better suited for those with some experience, already in the offline environment. Get your strong foundations in place before you fly free and soar!
