Which Money management tool you use?
Which tool/system you use to manage your expenses? How you keep your budget in line? How you see your expenditure habits?
Here are few things I wants in any app
- Great if I can integrate with UPI apps
- Can add multiple tags (social, recurring, etc) [must]
- Can show nice graphs of my expenditure habits
- Can export the data in csv or any accessible format [must]
- Can manage different bank accounts, for instance: XYZ is debited from this account, ABC from this..
- Can handle splits/reimbursement effectively: I don't want to show Rs 3000 expense, when basically it's a 600 one. So just a green 2400 indicating money I should get in return (something like that)
How do you manage? Ik simple GSheet might work as well, but WHAT'S YOUR SYSTEM to manage it?
I created a custom gsheet last year and been manually updating it. I have 3 columns expenditure, household stuff, food.
I used to spend nearly 5k a month on food. Now its hardly 1500. Manually updating the sheet let's you have a minute to think if that expenditure was really required or not. And everytime you update it, you get a reality check. So it is quite effective in correcting your spending habits.
But looks like, my expenditure on other categories has gone haywire ... Going to re categorise them now 🥲
Truee. That's the whole point of managing the expenses!!!
Btw how do you manage this sheet? What else you track or look for? And how you go about Split wala thing (if applicable)
Ya . I am bit skeptical about integrating UPI with any cloud api as it may expose security issue . So I kept things separate . For every transaction I manually add data to sheet EOD .
Also ,in every transaction I add some details about expense as below. It helps me figuring out what I spent for .so I add same to gsheet whenever I get time. So 1000% accuracy. 100% transparency.
( btw you can handle if you dont want to add you daily 18/- rupee expense in sheet it self)
That's my concern as well
You can also use cred money or fold money both are invited only for first 2 points but axio does the most of it and Amazon recently bought it and maybe it will convert it to the new Amazon pay standalone app.
