Why does searching for a job feel like a full-time job?
I’m currently in the thick of job hunting, and I have to say, it really feels like a full-time job. Anyone else feel the same way? I thought I’d share my experience and see if others can relate or offer some advice.
Every day, I wake up early, make my coffee, and sit down at my computer to start the job search. I spend hours scrolling through job boards, tweaking my resume, writing cover letters, and filling out applications. It’s incredibly time-consuming and can be pretty disheartening, especially when you don’t hear back at all for months. I’ve come to this conclusion that this whole job searching is more stressful than a full time job. This is a lonely flight and the worst part- there’s zero pay, only a hope for a better tomorrow.
So, I’m curious, how do you all manage the job hunting process? How do you handle the emotional ups and downs on an almost daily basis?
It’s tough man. Been through that phase. It’s the lowest low that I don’t hope for even for my worst enemy. I used to feel embarrassed speaking to my friends and family while I was unemployed, because I dint want to tell them I was doing nothing, when in reality like you said the grind to get a job is crazier than the actual work on the job. Just one advice, don’t cut off your friends and family like I did (I regret it looking back). It’s okay to fall on them for support. Just keep trying though best, and you’ll find a job soon. Will pray for you bro 🫂
